Evaluation of Disposable Medical Protective Clothing Based on Ergonomics
Ergonomic testing is an important part of the performance evaluation of protective clothing. To evaluate the commonly used disposable medical protective clothing with/without foot coverings in the market,30 volunteers were recruited as subjects to wear both types of protective clothing for subjective and objective evaluations,inclu-ding range of motion, flexibility, and subjective evaluations of joint movements. The results showed that both types of protective clothing restricted the flexion-extension and adduction-abduction range of the ankle joint, increased the internal-external rotation angle of the ankle joint, and significantly increased the abduction angle of the knee joint.Wearing disposable protective clothing with foot coverings limited the freedom of limb movement, while wearing clothing without foot coverings significantly affected trunk movements such as flexion and extension.
