Environmental engineering is an important major for cultivating and conveying talents for the development of ecological civilization in China. In the new era, in the face of serving the national ecological civilization strategy and implementing the fundamental task of education, environmental engineering major is facing new opportunities and challenges in curriculum of integrated ideology and politics. By analyzing the necessity of curriculum construction on the ideological and political dimension and the difficulties in the current courses of environmental engineering on the ideological and political dimension, this paper puts forward suggestions from the several aspects including training of teachers, the optimization of teaching content and the reform of teaching methods, so as to put forward ideas and methods for promoting the construction of environmental engineering courses on ideological and political dimension.
