A chopped quartz fiber/phenolic resin premix was prepared by a continuous dipping method using a self-made pressure roller dipping tank. The premix was characterized by infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),thermogravi-metric analysis(TG)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),and the curing reaction kinetics was studied. The results show that the ethanol solvent affects the impregnation of the quartz fiber, and the quartz fiber/phenolic resin premix prepared by the continuous method can reduce the influence of ethanol. The curing process parameters of the premix were as follows:gel temperature of 108.40℃,curing temperature of 183.04℃,and post-treatment temperature of 264.47℃.The curing reaction order is 0.95,and the curing reaction kinetic model is as follows:dα/dt =A·exp(-△E/RT)(1-α)n=4.3×1012·exp(-140.74/RT)(1-α)0.95.The quartz fiber/phenolic res-in composite molded products were obtained by pressing the prepared premix using the molding method. The mass residual rate of the molded product at 800℃was 82.3%,the tensile strength 58 MPa,the elongation at break 0.353%,the shear strength 105 MPa,and the linear ablation rate 0.088 mm/s,and no abnormalities were ob-served in ablation surface morphology. The results show that the molded products of the quartz fiber/phenolic resin premix prepared by the continuous method have good heat resistance, ablation resistance and mechanical proper-ties.
