A study of Spatial Differentiation of International Inbound Tourism Market in Russia
Russia is a large country with tourism resources across Europe and Asia, attracting many inbound tourists.Based on official statistics, the spatial differentiation of Russia's international inbound tourism market is analyzed from two perspectives:destination and source, using the Herfindahl index and Boston matrix and with the help of ArcGIS software. The results show that:from the destination perspective, the Russian inbound tourism mar-ket has a high level of agglomeration during the period 2013-2020,with the city of Moscow as the main core, the city of St.Petersburg as the secondary core, and places such as the Moscow region and the Vladimir region also have a certain market share;and from the perspective of the source of the passengers, during the period 2014-2019,the Russian Inbound passenger sources are in line with the law of distance decay, and the star market and golden cow market in the competitive market state are mainly the former Soviet Union republics or neighboring countries.Russia can expand its inbound tourism market by continuously strengthening infrastructure construction, supporting tourism small, medium and micro enterprises, and broadening international tourism cooperation, and China can also cooperate with Russia to build a Northeast Asian tourism community.
