A Study on the Developmental Capacity of Cross-border Marriage and Family in Southwest Border Areas
Cross-border marriages have become a social norm in the southwestern border areas,and their regional and ethnic characteristics indicate that cross-border marriages will exist in the border areas for a long time,and the families formed by such marriages have practical dilemmas in terms of biological,productive,psychological,and so-cialization functions,which in turn affect the healthy development of cross-border marital families as well as the social stability of the rural areas in the border areas.Therefore,the thinking on cross-border marital and family problems in the border areas of Southwest China should be shifted from the individual foreign spouses to the family as a whole,so as to promote the normalization of family functions through the improvement of family development capacity,and thus alleviate the contradiction between cross-border marital and family and the harmonious develop-ment of the border society.In this way,the contradiction between cross-border marriage and family and the harmo-nious development of border society can be alleviated.
