Study on the Curriculum Development and Teaching Strategies of Mental Health Education in UK Primary and Secondary Schools
Since 2020,incorporating mental health courses into the compulsory national health education has become an important measure for the UK to deal with the mental health problems of adolescents and children.The negative impact of the epidemic has further increased the UK government's attention to the mental health issue of adolescents and children.Mental health education courses in primary and secondary schools in the UK focus on mental health literacy in terms of objectives and contents,while the teaching strategies mainly include setting up independent health courses,supplemented by penetration into other subject and flexible and diverse activities and projects.In terms of curriculum development and delivery of mental health education,the UK attaches great importance to adapting to the age characteristics of students,stressing teaching in a safe and healthy teaching environment,through positive guidance to improve students'mental health literacy,eliminating students'"stigmatization"of psychological problems,connecting mental health education with relationships and socialization education,and paying attention to involve parents to improve school mental health education programs.
