The Development and Educational Practice of Interdisciplinary Academic Organizations at MIT
With the rapid development of emerging science and technology and the transformation of knowledge production models,interdisciplinary academic organizations are increasingly emerging in universities,in order to change the closed and isolated state between traditional disciplinary organizations,and they have become an important mean for universities to carry out interdisciplinary research and teaching.MIT's interdisciplinary organization developed vigorously during the World War Ⅱ,and has since become an important carrier of interdisciplinary teaching and research,as well as the key of the transformation of engineering education.Based on the diverse interdisciplinary organization,MIT has built a model of collaborative training with traditional colleges,breaking through the disciplinary dilemma of talent cultivation,effectively integrating multidisciplinary educational resources,and playing an important role to establish and maintain a top academic position in the world's universities,and to cultivate high-level innovative talents.
