Retrospect and Prospect of the Belt and Road Education Research:Visualization Analysis Based on Educational Dual-core Source Journals (2013-2023)
Chinese scholars have published 378 papers on the theme of the Belt and Road education in domestic educational dual-core journals since the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward in 2013. The CiteSpace visualization analysis finds that the number of papers published on the Belt and Road educational research shows an "inverted U-shape" development,the authors have not yet formed a core group of authors,and the cooperative relationship between authors is not strong. The research institutions of the Belt and Road education show the characteristics of specialization and agglomeration,while the breadth and depth of cooperation among them are insufficient. The hotspots of the Belt and Road education research are concentrated in three major fields:higher education cooperation,education internationalization,and talent cultivation;and the research frontiers are focused on four major themes:cross-border education,education for international students in China,global education governance and global competence. In the future,the research concept of the Belt and Road education should be strengthened with the holistic view and the overall view,aiming at the strategic goal of promoting the construction of Chinese-style modernization;in terms of the research approach,it is necessary to enhance joint research and accelerate the formation of the academic community of the Belt and Road education;in terms of research method,great concern should be made to multiple evidence-based research and actively carry out empirical research;in terms of research contents,theoretical research and cutting-edge innovation research should be enhanced.
