Mechanical Properties and Seismic Mechanism Analysis of Wu'anzhou Pagoda
To provide a basis for the reinforcement and protection work of Wu'anzhou pagoda in Chifeng city, tests and numerical simulation analyses of the dynamic characteristics of the ancient tower were carried out in the field of structural mechanics. First, the mechanical parameters of the tower body material of Wu'anzhou pagoda were tested and calculated. Then, a numerical analysis model of Wu'anzhou pagoda was established, taking into account the timber structural measures. The model underwent modal analysis, and the results were validated using empirical formulas. Subsequently, the model was used for response spectrum analysis. The research results indicate that the four corner holes around the tower body are weak points of the tower. Tensile stresses were observed in the tower body and the 1st to 4th-floor waist areas, exceeding the tensile strength limit of the masonry material. The tower's 3rd floor and above have experienced slight damage, posing significant safety risks, requiring corresponding reinforcement and protection measures.
