Analysis of the Current Status of Community Carbon Emissions in Large and Medium-sized Cities in China
The community carbon emissions of 35 large and medium-sized cities from 2016 to 2020 were counted, and the current status of emissions was analyzed in three aspects, namely, carbon emissions, carbon emissions intensity and carbon emissions structure. It is found that the total carbon emissions and net carbon emissions at the city level are showing continuous growth, and the cities with the highest total carbon emissions and net carbon emissions in 2020 are Chongqing and Beijing, and the lowest are Urumqi and Nanchang;the per capita carbon emission intensity, the per capita carbon emission intensity and the carbon emission intensity show the trends of continuous growth, first increasing and then decreasing and then increasing, and first decreasing and then increasing. And the per capita carbon emission intensity of the cities in the north of Xi'an and Zhengzhou is higher, while the cities in the Yangtze river and Pearl river delta generally are lower;the structure of carbon emission is dominated by transportation and electricity consumption, which will account for 36.5%and 36.0%respectively in 2020,and the cities with the highest percentage of carbon emission from transportation and electricity consumption are Kunming and Fuzhou, with a percentage of 52.0%and 53.5%respectively.The results provide scientific basis and data support for realizing the"dual carbon"goal at the community level.
