Palimpsest and Remodeling of Built Heritage Influenced by Particular Narrative
Faced with the situation of built heritage being entangled in social and cultural movements,this study,starting from the logic of palimpsest and its impact on historical layers,seeks to reveal how people intentionally erasure and cover up certain appearance of built heritage,transforming it into a narrative medium,in order to help different powers behind achieve various ideological objectives.Taking the purposes,objects,methods and results of palimpsest as clues,through three palimpsest cases at scales of"architectural fragment","architecture"and"city",it demonstrates how remodeling of built heritage are influenced by ideological narratives attached to them,and how the rewritten built heritage impacts on society and culture.It provides an analytical perspective for the study and practice of built heritage remodeling,aiming to prevent the damage of built heritage from both material and non-material values through palimpsest.
