Development and Performance Evaluation of Guss Polyether Polyurethane Concrete
Guss asphalt concrete is widely used in bridge deck paving for long bridges due to its outstanding deformation-following properties. However, the material has obvious shortcomings in high-temperature stability and energy saving and emission reduction. And polyurethane concrete has gradually become a hot spot of research due to its excellent road performance and environmental protection characteristics. In this paper,a polyether-based polyurethane developed by the group was used to formulate guss concrete GPC-10 instead of asphalt. Its performance was also evaluated in comparison with poured asphalt concrete.First, using polyether-based polyurethane as a binder,GPC-10 was formulated. The binder aggregate ratio was also determined based on their coating state and fluidity. Then, the road performance of the formulated GPC-10 and GA-10 were determined separately,A comparative evaluation was also conducted. The results show:compared to GA-10,GPC-10 has improved its high temperature performance by more than 39 times,low-temperature performance by more than 5 times, fatigue resistance by more than 7 times and the residual splitting strength after freezing and thawing is increased by more than a factor of one. Finally, the above indoor research results were verfied through the construction of experimental road sections.
