Objective To investiqate the current status of oral health knowledge,attitude and practice of child health care workers in primary health care institutions in Beijing.Methods During July 2023~August 2023,an online anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted on all personnel involved in child health care in primary health centers in Beijing.The questionnaire included general information,knowledge of oral health,attitude towards oral health and oral hygiene practices and eating habits.Results The overall knowledge of oral health(84.0%)and caries prevention and treatment(97.5%)among child health care workers was high,with the vast majority of them having a positive attitude towards oral health(>81.0%),and a high percentage of them rinsing their mouths after meals(95.3%)and brushing their teeth twice a day(82.1%).Knowledge of"children's oral health care starts before pregnancy"was low at 30.6%.Less than half flossed daily(40.0%)and received regular oral exams(41.6%).There was a positive correlation between the oral knowledge score and the attitude score(r=0.346,P<0.05),the knowledge score and the practice score(r=0.172,P<0.05),and the attitude score and the practice score(r=0.119,P<0.05)of the child health care workers.Multifactorial analysis showed that those who had worked for≤5 years(OR=0.520,95%CI:0.399-0.677)and those with 6-9 years(OR=0.706,95%CI:0.516-0.965)tended to be unaware that children's oral health care begins during pregnancy.Those with≤5 years of work(OR=1.600,95%CI:1.102-2.323),and those with age≤30 years(OR=3.742,95%CI:1.821-7.691)and those aged 31-40 years(OR=2.346,95%CI:1.553-3.543)tended to help children brush their teeth daily.Conclusions The overall oral knowledge of pediatric health care workers in Beijing's primary health care institutions is high,oral health attitudes are good,and there is room for improvement in personal oral hygiene practices.Oral health knowledge,attitude and practice were related to the years of work and age of primary child health care workers.
