Research on the Construction and Characteristics of the Employability Model for Teacher Education Majors in Local Normal Universities
The employability of teacher education majors is crucial to the Party's educational cause and the quality of talent cultivation,as well as to the construction of teacher workforce in primary and secondary schools and the healthy and sustainable development of education.Using the self-developed"Employability Scale for Teacher Education Majors in Local Universities",the research has conducted a questionnaire survey among education graduates from two local application-oriented universities in Beijing as well as some teachers from primary and secondary schools in Beijing.The survey results indicate that the overall level of teacher education majors'employability is relatively high,but its development is uneven;there is a significant gap in capabilities,yet there is sufficient potential for development;among various dimensions of employability,personality traits and adaptability are relatively strong,while behavioral competencies are relatively weak,presenting an overall characteristic of having more"abilities"than"efforts".Based on the characteristics of teacher education majors'employability,it is recommended to awaken teacher education majors'awareness of enhancing employability,encourage normal universities to prioritize the cultivation of teacher education majors'employability,and integrate the cultivation of teacher education majors'employability into primary and secondary schools.
