The situation of disorderly writing of homophonic xiehouyus is quite serious, which not only affects the exploration of their mechanism, academic exchange, and comprehension of translation, but also affects the Chinese language teaching related to them. Though there are both objective and subjective reasons involved, it is imperative to rectify this problem. First of all, it is necessary to get the fundamental jobs done well, including unifying ideological understanding, clarifying the main direction of target, and expounding the principles of how to write. The rectification of disorderly writing should start with the rectification of dictionaries, which requires joint efforts of academic writers, publishing house reviewers, and publishing bureau administrators.
