A Survey and Study on the Music of Zhigealu Niuniu in Southwest Sichuan
Niuniu is the most distinctive singing style in Yi people music. It is often sung by folk artists at weddings, gatherings and in festival. Based on the folk music characteristics and the perspective of singing, this paper makes use of the literature and music materials collected and investigated in southwest Yi people, Sichuan province, analyzing and combing the basic content, the characteristics of musical form, the method of presentation and the social function of Niuniu music, to construct the theoretical research model and basic method of Niuniu music in northern Yi people dialect area.
