A Discussion on the Lexicalization of"Xiang Dang Ran"
"Xiang Dang Ran"can be used as a predicate,attributive,adverbial,and other syntactic components in modern Chinese,with strong subjectivity,expressing the speaker's subjective speculation.It was first seen in the Hou Han Shu of the Southern Song dynasty and is a shortened form of"Xiang Qi Dang Ran".It was promoted and spread due to users'pragmatic innovation based on economic principles and language imitation stimulated by celebrity effects.The lexicalization of"Xiang Dang Ran"occurs under the reanalysis mechanism of"Xiang+Dang+Ran",and its lexicalization is manifested as:the semantic gradually depreciates;Internal structure cannot be analyzed;Co-occurrence with guessing verbs.
