Tan Kailai,a famous Confucian merchant and a Linsheng in the reign of emperor Jiaqing in the Qing dynasty,excelling in virtue all his life,made great contributions to the economic,social and cultural development of Liulong town,Dading county in the southwest of Guizhou province at that time.He devoted in poetry and prose,but only incomplete Collection of Zuiyuecaotang Volume I and a few prose handed down.The content of Collection of Zuiyuecaotang mainly includes poems of lyric,satire,leisure,chanting of objects,mourning and events recording.The poetic style of this collection is melancholy and gloomy.Tan Kailai is good at using traditional artistic techniques of poetry in this collection,such as plain and common language,delicate and accurate borrowing,flexible prose writing skills.Collection of Zuiyuecaotang integrated into Tan's life to show his tortuous growing experience and noble thoughts and behavior and to some extent,reproduce the social reality of Dading county in the middle and late Qing dynasty.
