Distribution and change of electroencephalogram energy density in patients with severe obstructive sleep apnea
Objective Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)is a sleep disorder with a high incidence rate in clinical practice. Its pathogenesis is the repeated obstruction of the upper airway during sleep, which can cause pathological and physiological changes such as hypoxemia, frequent hypoventilation, sleep arousal, and respiratory pauses.Polysomnography(PSG)is the gold standard for diagnosing obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)in clinical practice, which can monitor changes in the brain waves of patients during sleep. This article analyzes the sleep patterns and energy density distribution and changes of electroencephalogram(EEG)in male patients with severe OSA,and explores the sleep EEG changes in patients with severe OSA.Methods We selected 30 male patients with severe apnea syndrome and 30 male normal controls, and monitored polysomnography in 60 subjects all night. The obtained sleep characteristics and EEG parameters were sorted and extracted. The sleep characteristics and EEG energy density of prefrontal area were compared. Results In terms of sleep characteristics, the sleep period time of severe OSA patients was 370.20min,the average sleep efficiency was 86.90%,the average proportion of non-rapid eye movement stage 1 was 19.90%,and the average proportion of non-rapid eye movement stage 2 was 42.55%.Compared with normal people, the sleep time, sleep efficiency and the proportion of non-rapid eye movement stage 1 and stage 2 were significantly reduced. In terms of EEG characteristics, the absolute energy density, total energy density, relative energy density delta wave and K complex wave of sleep in severe OSA patients were higher than those in the control group, and the relative power of β wave was lower than that in the control group. The low frequency EEG activity was significantly increased in OSA patients. Conclusions With the aggravation of the severity of OSA patients, the EEG energy and low frequency activity of patients increased significantly, which provides an important reference for the development trend of OSA patients and the evaluation of curative effect.
