Exploration on electronic technology practice teaching of biomedical engineering undergraduate based on"double guidance and one subject"model
Objective Based on the requirements of future development of national health service for talent training in biomedical engineering (BME) related fields,we explore an improved teaching model for electronic technology practice course of BME in medical colleges. Methods To solve the problem that electronic technology practice course does not have the characteristic teaching of combination of medicine and engineering,a new teaching reform model known as"double guidance and one subject"is proposed. It contains three aspects.Firstly, the new teaching model takes the BME students as the main body.Secondly, its teaching philosophy is based on achievement orientation of student job requirements.Thirdly, its teaching method is based on the task orientation of applying electrical and electronic professional technology to solve practical medical engineering problems.Wherein, the teaching philosophy of achievement orientation exists in the macro and micro design of the curriculum, and the teaching method of task orientation emphasizes that practical teaching in the micro design of the curriculum is carried out with specific medical tasks. In this teaching model, teaching objectives, teaching design and implement, diversified teaching evaluation form a closed loop for promoting"teaching"and"learning"continuous self-improvement.This article takes the design of a multimode neural electrical stimulator as a teaching case, that is carried out in the electronic technology practical teaching of BME,and explores the characteristic practical teaching of BME under the"double guidance and one subject"practical teaching model. Results Compared with traditional practice teaching, after implementation of"double guidance and one subject"teaching model, the average score for the teaching quality of electronic technology courses is higher than 85 points.Students are more interested in electronic technology practice course, competition and medical instruments design or debugging.Their professional knowledge, ability and quality are significantly improved too. Conclusions"Double guidance and one subject"practice teaching model is helpful to cultivate the ability of BME students to use electrical and electronic technology to solve the practical problems of medicine and engineering, and plays a positive role in encouraging students to devote themselves to the national health service after graduation. This teaching model provides a meaningful reference for the characteristic teaching of electrical and electronic courses of biomedical engineering in medical colleges.
