Exploration and practice of scientific research feeding back teaching in biomechanics experimental teaching
Objective The features of Biomechanics course in Biomedical Engineering major include interdisciplinary and cutting-edge.However,the current experimental course teaching faces many problems, such as:devices used in experiments are highly encapsulated, which results in both teachers and students can hardly understand their structures and principles;experimental teaching content in experimental designs diverging from teachers' research interests.Such problems could largely restrict students' innovation and their hands-on ability,as well as limit the function of cultivating students' innovative thinking and interdisciplinary awareness in Biomechanics courses. Therefore, the current experimental teaching in Biomechanics course is urgently to be reformed through focusing problems mentioned above. Methods In this manuscript, scientific research feeding back teaching mode is proposed to improve the experimental teaching of Biomechanics courses based on the implementation of 'Biomechanics A' experimental teaching in Capital Medical University.Specifically, two new experimental teaching contents transforming from teachers' research outputs are added into the experimental course on the basis of traditional experimental teaching contents.Based on teachers' research outputs, students can acknowledge and construct biomechanical measurement equipment and implement such equipment conducting biomechanical parameters measurement. Results According to the feedbacks after experimental course teaching, scientific research feedback teaching mode inspires students' interest in Biomechanics course, exercises their hands-on ability, enables students to have an in-depth understanding of scientific research. Conclusions Better effects have been made in the implementation of scientific research feeding back teaching mode in 'Biomechanics A' experimental teaching in Capital Medical University, which settles the problems that current Biomechanics experimental courses are facing. The introduced method can provide a reference for future reform of experimental teaching in Biomechanics courses.
