The first principles study of magnetic skyrmion in Janus CoXY(X,Y=Cl,Br,I;X≠Y)monolayer
Purposes—To create a novel two-dimensional Janus structure designated as CoXY(X,Y=C1,Br,I;X≠Y),analyze its magnetic properties, and provide new insights into the exploration of two-dimensional magnetic Janus materials. Methods—Magnetic parameters of CoXY are obtained by employing first principles calculations based on density functional theory, and Monte Carlo simula-tions are utilized to simulate the magnetic configurations of the structure under various external mag-netic fields.Result—The Monte Carlo simulations reveal the potential emergence of stable magnetic skyrmion states in the CoXY structure. Conclusion—The computational results indicate that the mon-olayer CoXY serves as a promising platform for magnetic skyrmion-based racetrack memory and pro-cessor devices.
