Analysis and suggestions of provincial publishing research fund established by provincial periodical association
This study aims to sufficiently promote the development and core competence training of periodical editor by provincial periodical association.Through the paper and guideline of periodical redactology funded by provincial periodical associations of 31 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities)in China,the research funding of editing and publishing by provincial periodical associations was analyzed by bibliometric method and text analysis.Aiming at the regional differences and problems,practical countermeasures and suggestions were proposed.There were redactology funds of provincial periodical associations in 14 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities).The provinces(municipalities)which the number of funding papers exceeded 100 were arranged according to the paper quantity in following order:Jiangsu,Guangdong,Zhejiang,Chongqing,Shanghai,and Shaanxi.Some provincial periodical associations had discontinuous funds,abnormal management and small amount of produced papers.38.3％funding papers were published in core journals.The quality of research output needed to be further improved.The paper proportion of sole author was high.There was less cooperation across administrative regions.Periodical editors in universities and science and technology journal editors were the main objects of funding.For provincial periodical associations without redactology funds,the research enthusiasm of periodical editors should be activated by strengthening publicity,resource integration and new funding model.For provincial periodical associations establishing redactology funds,the research quality may be further improved from three stages,such as pre-declaration,implementation and acceptance.
