Current situation and countermeasures of publication review of agricultural academic journals under the background of ethical governance of science and technology
Agricultural academic journals are not only important carriers for the dissemination of agricultural science and technology,and relevant achievements,but also shoulder the important responsibilities for academic leadership and gate-keeping demonstration.Scientific and technological ethics review is an indispensable step during publication of agricultural academic journals and also an important guarantee for their high-quality development.This article investigates the current status of scientific and technological ethical review of Chinese agricultural academic journals,including the statement of the journal's manuscript agreement,the scope of ethical review,and the practical strength.It points out that the practice and construction of scientific and technological ethics review in agricultural academic journals are in the initial stage,lacking unified guiding documents and implementation guidelines.There exists issues such as low participation in ethical review practices,incomplete review coverage,and insufficient details and depth.Therefore,it is recommended that agricultural journals strengthen the awareness and capabilities of ethical review among relevant personnel,leam from the experiences of ethical review at home and abroad,and improve all aspects of ethical review,such as clarifying the requirements for scientific and technological ethics review in the manuscript contract,and so on.At the sametime,we call on relevant departments to reach a consensus on the review as soon as possible,to form an industry standard to guide ethical review in an orderly manner.
