In the context of international developement of journals,the Latin names of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)is the scientific carrier of spread of TCM abroad.Thus,the accurate and standardized use of the Latin names of TCM plays an important role in enhancing the scientific nature of TCM research papers and even ensuring clinical safty of TCM.Given that Chinese Herbal Medicine(CHM)constitutes the vast majority of TCM,this paper meticulously summarizes the principles of forming Latin names of CHM,and investigates the current issues with the use of Latin names of CHM in TCM journal.By collecting a large number of non-standard cases,this article systematically identifies the current chaotic usage of Latin names of CHM,and proposes suggestions of standardization for both the specific editing operational level and macro-management level.This paper aims to promote the standardized use of Latin names in TCM journals,to improve the editing quality and the credibility of content in TCM journals,so as to promote the international dissemination,exchange and cooperation of TCM.
