Publication planning is the key for academic journals to attract high-level articles,build journals'features and enhance brand image.Taking Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology(CJCO)as an example,this paper introduced the exploration and practice of publication planning for recent years.CJCO has built an academic exchange platform based on discipline construction,gathered talents,and reported the frontier progress in the field of oncology for years;Utilizing the resources of the sponsors,CJCO establishes contact channels with experts and academic groups,and plan high-quality topics;By establishing special columns based on the objective of publication,CJCO leads the development of disciplines,and promotes academic communication;CJCO pays close attention to academic developments in the field,tracks conferences and scientific awards,and expands expert resources for cooperation;CJCO uses domestic and international large databases to analyze the hot content and report the content that readers care about.
