Population Migration,Mobility and the Strategic Tasks of Urbanization Development
Since the beginning of this century,especially since 2010,the trend of China's population migra-tion and mobility and its urbanization has been characterized by:the fact that the number of the floating popula-tion has continued to increase;the fact that the population has mostly flowed to the eastern area,especially to the southeast coastal areas;the fact that there have been two phenomena in population migration and mobility,i.e."the spatial distribution of population in the south is denser than that in the north"and"people from the north move to the south";the fact that the level of population urbanization has continued to rise and urbaniza-tion in the central and western areas has grown faster;the fact that the population is more obviously concentrat-ed in megacities and megalopolises,which has brought about an increase in the number of megacities and meg-alopolises,and on this basis,has driven the development of several core urban metropolitan areas and urban agglomerations.On the basis of the trend of population migration and mobility and the strategic tasks in the course of China's urbanization development,it is proposed in this article that the citizenization of agricultural population transfer and floating population should be accelerated,a more balanced national development in the process of urbanization should be achieved,and a diverse and high-quality urbanization development in differ-ent regions in response to local conditions should be practiced.
