网络操作系统是突破广域大规模网络可管不可控局限的关键,是提供智能、安全、柔性、可定制网络能力的网络大脑,也是推动互联网从消费型向生产型演进的核心技术.为实现网络可管可控的目标,分析了当前与网络操作系统相关的研究进展,提出了其概念内涵和体系架构.将网络操作系统自底向上分为网元操作系统、大网级操作系统和云网操作系统三层,系统地探讨了数据平面-控制平面-服务平面的架构,攻克了大规模确定性传输、新型传输控制协议和超强算力网络等关键技术,揭示了网络操作系统的目标和发展趋势,并总结了潜在的应用场景.
A Review of and Prospects for Network Operating System Research
The network operating system ( NOS ) is the key to breaking through the manageable and uncontrollable limitations of large-scale wide area networks.The future NOS is the brain of network that provides intelligent, secure, flexible, and customized network capabilities, and it promotes the Internet's evolution from consumption to production.We aim to achieve the manageable and controllable network, analyze the current research, and put forward the concept, system, and framework of NOS.From systematically dividing NOS into three layers ( network element operating system, large-scale network operating system and cloud-network integrated operating system ) , the framework of data plane-control plane-service plane is explored.Key technologies such as large-scale deterministic transmission, new transmission control protocols and super-powerful computing networks are tackled.The goals and development trends of NOS are revealed.The research progress, target architecture and development trend of NOS are studied, and visions for potential application are summarized.
