Pattern-Reconfigurable Satellite Receiving Antenna Based on Liquid Metal
A pattern reconfigurable antenna based on liquid metal is proposed to address the problem of poor directional navigation capability of satellite communication in different directions.Firstly, the main radiating element consisting of four arm spiral antenna and circularly polarized feeding network were designed, and a basic model of satellite navigation antenna was constructed.Secondly, based on the Yagi antenna principle, four grounded reflective hollow columns are designed at a certain distance and angle around the antennas.Subsequently, the height of the reflective column injected with the liquid metal is optimized to achieve reverse displacement of the directional pattern. The simulation results show that the designed antenna has a radiation frequency range from 1.5 to 1.64 GHz,which can realize beam switching at five radiation angles within a 360° coverage range. It can achieve high-precision and directional navigation in the B1 frequency band of the Beidou satellite navigation system and the L1 frequency band of the global positioning system.
