Academic English teaching and research is one of the hot topics in college English teaching reform and research in China.This study uses content analysis approach to conduct comprehensive review and analysis of the EAP(English for Academic Purposes)research papers in CSSCI over the past ten years in China,focusing on analyzing the current status of the quantity,journal distribution,research methods and research contents.The results reveal that the number of the published EAP research initially demonstrates a stable growth trend and then a slight decline.The empirical studies outnumber non-empirical studies,showing an overall upward tendency.The researches mainly center on EAP learners,teaching organization and models,etc..Research on academic English teachers,textbooks,and the assessment and testing is inadequate.The study finally presents research prospects.
