Through a questionnaire survey on career outlook awareness targeting 135 new students majoring in optometry technology,it was found that most freshmen choose this major mostly based on the expectations of engaging in related careers in the future,but their understanding of the employment prospects for this major was limited,and the expected salary was quite different from the actual situation.Students generally perceived the main advantage of careers related to optometry technology to be stable employment opportunities,but they also recognized the challenges of pursuing.The survey found that students'career awareness was crucial for their career planning and future development.Based on these findings,it was suggested that colleges and universities should strengthen career guidance to help students establish more realistic career expectations,and at the same time provide more internship opportunities to help students prepare for their future careers.
