In the process of glass production,there exist three main types of defects:stone defects,cord and knot defects as well as bubble defects.With the extension of the service life of the furnace,the proportion of knot defect which influencing production is increasing.In combination with the production experience,a knot defect caused by side wall erosion in the later stage of the kiln was studied and analyzed.Improvement measures were taken to reduce the occurrence of the defect considering from the respective of causes and chemical composition of the defect,which was helpful to the control and solution of the knot defect.
