In order to make up for the deficiency of blastability classification of the ore-bearing rock mass in en-gineering application,the AHP-TOPSIS method was employed to establish a comprehensive evaluation model.5 eval-uation parameters,the ore-bearing rock density γ,the wave impedance K,the Protodyakonov coefficient f,the average crack spacing d and the specific charge q,were selected as the evaluation indexes of blastability classification.The gray correlation analysis was adopted to quantify the importance of the 5 indexes.Moreover,the AHP method was ap-plied to assign the weights,and the TOPSIS method was employed to calculate the close degree C+.Through the a-bove mentioned analysis,the results of blastability classification were given as,S1=0,S2=12.68%,S3=27.32%, S4=41.57%,S5=57.47%,S6=83.41%,S7=1.In this paper,the method was applied to the mining Engineering of Iron Mine in Liberia.Result shows that the blastability classification for mining areas with different lithological characters and the employment of different blasting design parameters for different blastability grades reduce the blas-ting boulder yield and achieve good economy.
