At the Beijing Winter Olympics,China has achieved its historic best ranking of 12th in the ice dance event.However,with the overall reform of figure skating rules by the International Skating Union shortly thereafter,China's ice dance discipline faces new adaptability challenges.By comparing the performance and specific scoring of China's ice dance pair Wang Shiyue/Liu Xinyu with the top three pairs at the Beijing Winter Olympics,it was found that there is a certain gap between China's ice dance project and the world's top level,mainly concentrated in the quality of technical movements.This suggests that efforts should be made to enhance the artistic quality of ice dance.Therefore,it is proposed to emphasize the development of ice dance,increase support for the project,grasp the overall performance,focus on enhancing the quality of choreography,prioritize improving footwork,and enhance the artistic quality of movements.It is also important to closely follow the reform of project rules and identify the emphasis of evaluation.This aims to deepen the understanding of project characteristics and artistic expression,enhance China's comprehensive competitive strength in ice dance,and strive for greater breakthroughs in future international competitions.
