The Mediating Effect of Perceived Social Support on the Relationship between Perceived Stress and Trait Flow among Winter Sports Athletes
This paper investigates the role of perceived social support in the mechanism between perceived stress and trait flow state among winter sports athletes, aiming to promote the positive psychological state of these athletes.By using the method of survey and mathematical statistics,200 winter sports athletes were surveyed. The results indicate that perceived stress significantly predicts perceived social support(β=-0.402,P<0.001),perceived stress significantly predicts trait flow(β=-0.853,P<0.001),and perceived social support significantly predicts trait flow(β=0.161,P<0.01).Additionally,there are significant gender differences in perceived stress and trait flow among winter sports athletes.Perceived social support partially mediates the relationship between perceived stress and trait flow in these athletes. It is recommended that coaches provide timely emotional support and assistance to winter sports athletes under high stress to promote flow experiences. The social environment should offer more tolerance and support to female athletes to enhance their performance.Future research should further explore the structure of trait flow and its relationship with other variables in both team and individual winter sports athletes.
