Research on the English Translation Practice Path of Ice and Snow Sports Documentaries from the Perspective of Emotional Transmission
Documentaries are convenient carriers for cultural dissemination.Effective English translation of ice and snow sports documentaries is of great significance for promoting Chinese ice and snow culture. To clarify the interaction between the translator's English translation process and the audience's emotional transmission, the study utilizes literature review and grounded theory research methods to conduct a coding analysis of 55 ice and snow sports documentary papers. The translation coding results serve as the research object to construct a practical path model for the English translation of ice and snow sports documentaries. The study finds that the practical path for English translation includes four main categories:translation foundation, translation principles, translation strategies, and translation effects. The translation principles are established based on the translation foundation, the strategies guide the translation practice, and the ultimate goal is to achieve the desired translation effects. The entire process of translation practice should be permeated with the concept of emotional transmission to enhance the translation effect of the documentaries. It is recommended to strengthen theoretical research and discussion on documentary translation practice, develop customized translation strategies, and cultivate more professional translators. This is expected to continuously improve the translation quality of domestic documentaries, promote the international dissemination of Chinese ice and snow culture in the post-Winter Olympics era,and tell China's story well to the world under the policy of"going global"of Chinese culture.
