Short track speed skating is a dominate ice sport in China. By analyzing the performance in the Short Track Speed Skating World Champion ships,it will help to maintain the competitiveness in the international arena of this sport. This paper has examined the results of various teams at the 48th Rotterdam Short Track Speed Skating World Champion ships by using the methods of literature review, video observation, and logical analysis. The findings reveal that China, along with Canada, the USA,the Netherlands, and South Korea, forms the top competitive tier. The Chinese team shows a general trend of stronger performance in men's events compared to women's. The men's individual 1000m event is relatively weaker, indicating a need for better rule understanding. The women's individual events have declined in performance due to a transition between generations. The women's team relay has deficiencies in baton handovers. Recommendations include enhancing international exchanges in technical innovation, tactical planning, and athlete training;intensifying specialized training for the men's 1 000m event;improving athletes' rule comprehension, psychological resilience, and adaptability;comprehensively strengthening female athletes' starting position, cornering control, speed maintenance, confidence, stability, and physical fitness;and improving baton handover techniques and teamwork in the women's team relay.
