Research on the Development of Ice and Snow Events in Harbin City:SWOT Analysis and Strategic Optimization
With the favorable opportunity of the 2025 9th Asian Winter Games,it is timely to promote the high-quality development of Harbin's ice and snow events.Using SWOT analysis,this paper has analyzed the development situation from four dimensions:strengths,weaknesses,opportunities,and threats.It's pointed that the long history of ice and snow,unique event brand,rich cultural heritage,extensive popularity are the advantage;incomplete ice and snow arena facilities,the lack of composite ice and snow talent,and insufficient safety measures are weaknesses;Hosting the Asian Winter Games again,boosting tourism through events,and policy support to promote the development of the event for Harbin to bring great opportunities for development;However,competition from other events,climate change,and challenges in online operations pose threats.Based on these dimensions,four optimization strategies—SO(Strength-Opportunity),WO(Weakness-Opportunity),ST(Strength-Threat),and WT(Weakness-Threat)—are proposed to capitalize on strengths and avoid weaknesses,aiming to advance China's ice and snow sports to higher levels.
