Research on the Effect of Polycarboxylic Acid Water Reducing Agent on the Properties of Ordinary Portland Cement and Sulphoaluminate Cement
In this study, the effect of polycarboxylic acid (PCE) water reducing agent on the construction performance of ordinary Port-land and sulphoaluminate cement were systematically studied.Different amounts of PCE were added into the cements. It was found that PCE has good water reducing property. With the increase of PCE amount, the setting time of the two cements increases. Also, the flowability of the two cements increase. The water reducing rate for the two cements reaches the saturation point with the PCE amount being 0.50% for ordinary Portland cement and 0.40% for Sulphoaluminate cement. The compressive strength of the two cements in-creases with the increase of PCE amount before the water reducing rate reaches the saturation point. Therefore,PCE has good compati-bility with both cements.
