Experimental Study on Road Performance of Cement and Fly Ash Stabilized Steel Slag and Iron Ore Waste Mixture
The comprehensive utilization of cement, fly ash, iron ore waste and steel slag as pavement base materials is of great value for carbon reduction, carbon sequestration, energy saving and emission mitigation. This paper uses cement and fly ash as the stabilizer for the pavement base material composed of iron ore waste and steel slag, and studies the effect of stabilizer amount on the performance of pavement base material. The unconfined compressive strength, shrinkage property and erosion resistance are chosen as the evaluation indexes of road performance. After optimizing the mixing ratio of cement, fly ash, steel slag and iron ore waste, the final recommenda-tion is given as m(cement):m(fly ash):m(iron ore waste rock):m(steel slag)=5∶20∶65∶35.Under this condition, cement and fly ash stabilized steel slag and iron ore waste can be used as a grade 1 and below road pavement base material.
