Research on the Form of Ancient Chinese Books from the Perspective of Modern Book Design
With Eastern pragmatism as well as amazing wisdom and technology,the ancient Chinese developed an extremely diverse range of book forms,leaving a splendid and valuable cultural heritage of books for future generations.With the perspective of modern book design,this paper combs through six aspects of ancient Chinese book forms,namely,material,structure,cover,layout,binding and printing,in order to understand the role of ancient people's pragmatic and austere design concepts on ancient book forms.The study aims to provide ideas and inspirations for modern book design in China.
