Systematic Research on Subway Map Design Based on City Image Theory—Taking the Guangzhou Metro Map as an Example
As city clusters and metropolitan areas come into being,the urban form is changing,and the intercity metro transportation network is being formed,and thus the design of subway maps should be adjusted accordingly.Adopting the theory of the Image of the City proposed by Kevin Lynch,this paper takes the Guangzhou metro map as an example,analyzes the existing subway map design and its shortcomings.It also proposes the innovative design ideas of the metro line map design that can adapt to the transformation of the current urban morphology.
