Research on the Interpretation and Innovative Design of Cloud-Pattern Wadang
Wadang,also known as eaves tiles,is an important part of the roof in ancient Chinese architecture,which has both functional and aesthetic values.The patterns of Wadang are exquisite and rich in variety.This paper takes the cloud-pattern Wadang as the research object,analyzes in details its graphical elements,structural forms,and pattern design,and then explores the cultural connotation.It proposes the innovative design strategy of the cloud-pattern Wadang in terms of the display of the form and the communication of the connotation.The study hopes to provide a reference for the dissemination and development of the exquisite Wadang patterns in the contemporary era.
