Design of Community Composting Facility Service System Based on User Needs
Objective The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of designing a shared service system for in-situ compostable waste disposal in Chinese communities by using the Kano model and Product Service System Design(PSSD)concepts and methods. Methods Through desktop research and field research, the study gained insights into the unique environment and scenario of the community, and obtained user'needs through observation,semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, etc.,and prioritised the user needs to come up with corresponding design strategies. Results On this basis,a community-centred shared composting product service system and a community shared compostable waste treatment facility were established.By using the Kano model to quantify user needs and scientifically guide the design practice, the study explored a sustainable community shared composting service system model, which can effectively transform the resources in the community while taking into account the psychological needs of the community's target users and achieving a community shared governance. Conclusion This study can provide new ideas to promote the sustainable development of the community waste separation and disposal industry.
