Research and Practice of the Ageing-Friendly Design of Bed Assistive Devices
Objective To design a bed assistive device to assist the elderly to get up from and lie down in bed,thus improving their self-care ability.Methods Through literature research and questionnaire survey,the research status of furniture design for the elderly at home and abroad was analyzed;the bed assistive devices market was studied and the competitive product analysis was conducted afterwards;the behavior process of getting up from and lying down in bed was investigated through field investigation and home visits,and the specific needs of the elderly for the assistive device were analyzed.Results A bed assistive device was designed to assist the elderly to independently get up from and lie down in bed,which also ensures the safety and comfort while the device being used.Conclusion The study on the ageing-friendly design of bed assistive devices can provide a reference for the research and development of related ageing-friendly home aids devices.
