Study on the Decorative Art of Traditional Painted Houses in East Hubei Province-The Case Study of Dayuwan Ancient Residence in Huangpi District,Wuhan
This research examines the decorative art of the Painted House,a traditional dwelling unique to the East Hubei region.Taking the Painted House in Dayuwan of Huangpi District as a case study,the research adopts the field study method to explain in detail the definition of the Painted House and the reasons for its formation,and analyzes in depth its decorative parts,motifs and patterns,technical skills and artistic features,and so on.The study finds that the eaves painting of the Painted House is particularly outstanding,and its decorative themes cover characters,animals,plants and auspicious patterns,realizing the integration of poetry,calligraphy,painting,printing and architectural art.The painting of painted houses adopts the"eight-dominant painting methods",using ink and light colors,representing the unique use of traditional Chinese ink painting in the field of architectural decoration.The purpose of this paper is to promote the understanding and protection of the unique architectural style of the Painted House,with a view to contributing to the conservation and restoration of the architectural heritage and the sustainable development of traditional villages in Hubei.
