Expression of IKBKE in hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma tissues and its clinical significance
Objective To investigate the expression of IKBKE in hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HBV-HCC)tissues and its correlation with clinical features and prognosis. Methods Tissue microarray immunohistochemistry was used to detect the protein expression of IKBKE(inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit epsilon)in cancer tissues and adjacent non-cancerous tissues of HBV-HCC patients.General information, clinical symptoms, and pathological reports of pa-tients were collected and analyzed, along with relevant blood indicators.Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to compare the expression of IKBKE in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues with the general clinical data, clinical symptoms, blood indicators, pathological results, and prognosis of the patients. Results This study showed that the protein expression of IKBKE was signifi-cantly higher in cancer tissues than in normal tissues in HBV-related liver cancer patients, and the high-expression group exhibi-ted significantly lower overall survival than the low-expression group.Furthermore,IKBKE expression was negatively correlated with the degree of liver cirrhosis and positively correlated with indicators such as TFF3,pCEA,and Ki67.Conclusion The combined detection of IKBKE,TFF3,pCEA,and Ki67 can help predict the prognosis of HBV-related liver cancer.
