Influencing factors of survival time of cutaneous melanoma patients based on SEER data
Objective To analyze the influencing factors of survival time for cutaneous melanoma patients,to explore the measures for improving the prognosis,so as to achieve the purpose of reducing the mortality of patients and reducing the burden of disease. Methods Patient data in the Surveillance,Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER)database were screened, and univariate analysis of outcome was carried out using Chi-square test;Kaplan-Meier method was used to draw the survival curve, and log-rank method was used to compare the survival time;the Cox proportional risk model was used to analyze the multi-factors influencing survival time. Results There were statistically significant differences between gender, age, family income,TNM stage, clinical stage, and survival time in the tumor grade group (P<0. 0001). The mortality risk for females is 0. 782 times that of males;the older the patients and the lower the family income, the greater the risk of death;the more severe the involve-ment of adjacent tissues and lymph nodes, the worse the prognosis of the patients;survival rates after cancer metastasis signifi-cantly reduced. Conclusion Male, older, lower family income, higher clinical stage, and high tumor grade in patients have higher risk of death. It is recommended that men over the age of 50 should be screened every 5 years and educational activities in low-income communities should be carried out to narrow the regional prognostic gaps.
