Relationship between PCNP expression and BRAFV600E gene mutation in thyroid cancer
Objective To investigate the expression of PEST-containing nuclear protein(PCNP)in thyroid cancer and ana-lyze its correlation and clinical significance of BRAFV600E gene mutation. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect PC-NP expression in 110 cases of TC,its adjacent tissues and 38 cases of goitre tissues, and fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect BRAFV600E gene mutation in 65 cases of TC patients to explore the relationship and clinical significance of the two.Re-sults Univariate analysis showed that the expression of PCNP in 110 TC patients was correlated with gender, age, lymph node metastasis and tissue type, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The expression of PCNP in 57 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues and goiter tissues, with statistical significance(P<0.001).Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was no correlation between PCNP expression and BRAFV600E gene mutation in 65 TC patients(P>0.05).Conclusion The expression of PCNP in TC has important clinical significance. The correlation analysis of PCNP and BRAFV600E gene mutations in thyroid gland indicated that they may play different roles in the oc-currence and development of TC.
