Effects of planting Rye Grass in southern red soil region
Effects of planting rye grass Lolium perenne on the N, P, K contents of red soil were studied. Besides, the nutritional contents and the feeding value of rye grass were tested. The results showed that continuous growth of rye grass for several years obviously improved the N, P, K and other nutrients in the red soil. The rye grass also contains rich crude protein and vitamin. Raising cows with it improved the daily fresh milk yield by 17. 3 percent. Meanwhile, the effect of sowing rye grass mixed with green manure was discussed.
